Grief Quotes: 10 Quotes Capturing the Essence of Loss Experiences

Hello Curious Soul, you’re in for a treat in this post.

I want to share some grief quotes with you.

If you follow the blog on Social Media, you’ll see regular posts containing quotes. Often these are accompanied by a picture of my lovely Chihuahua, Bailey.

More recently, however, I have been inspired by signs from the universe and from our loved ones on the other side.

Inspiration From Signs and Quotes

I love hearing all about your signs. Some are common, such as butterflies or feathers, and others are really obscure such as a specific football score or a green giraffe.

Whatever your signs are, they are all special. They promote a sense of joy, even if just for a moment.

Do you ever find yourself scrolling through social media and then stumble across a post that feels like it is talking directly to you?

I’m sure you know what I mean. A quote, or a statement from someone that you resonate with so much in the moment, that it feels like the person who wrote it or said it is in your head.

From the many times this has happened to me, the quotes have mostly been about grief or healing.

Allow me to share with you ten quotes that have stood out to me. I hope you can resonate with at least a few.

Grief Quotes

  1. “When you speak to someone who has passed, be still and listen; they will send you signs from the universe”

2. “Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch” – Jack Thorne

3. “Our loved ones never truly leave us. They remain in our hearts, in our memories, and most importantly, in the lessons they taught us”

4. “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure”

5. “The bond between a mother and child is not severed by death. It continues to grow and evolve, even in absence”

6. “Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever”

8. “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart” – Mahatma Gandhi

9. “Love knows no boundaries, even those that divide heaven and earth. So whenever you feel a breeze, a gentle touch, or a sudden warmth, know that it’s a sign of love from those who watch over you”

10. “Everyone can master grief but he who has it” – William Shakespeare

Final Thoughts

Number 10 is a personal favourite of mine. I personally resonated with it, I thought I understood what it meant to grieve.

I was 34 years old when I first experienced profound grief and I’m somewhat well versed in it now.

Unless you’ve experienced it, it’s impossible to imagine how it will affect you.

If you have experienced it, I hope this post, the grief quotes, and my blog can offer you some comfort.
